CATIA V5 assembly mass distribution analysis

WB Mass Distribution

Intersect assembly parts with each bay, calculate regional mass, center of gravity, inertia, surface area, and volume, then export detailed results, structural summaries, and excluded-instance records to Excel.

Intersect by bay, measure, aggregate, export

Features

From assembly geometry to review-ready regional mass results.

Solid intersections by bay

Computes part-to-bay intersections in a temporary CATPart without modifying the source models.

Mass-property measurement

Reports mass, center of gravity, inertia, intersection surface area and volume, material, and weight code.

Automatic bay creation

Create adjacent Bay bodies from parallel station planes or select an existing bay-definition part from the assembly.

Large-run prefiltering

Uses the partition direction and axial ranges to reject non-overlapping combinations before expensive Boolean operations.

Live progress and cancellation

Shows item-level status and estimated time remaining. A cancelled run can still save its completed partial results.

Bilingual Excel reports

Supports configurable length, mass, and density units with detail, bay summary, structural summary, and excluded-instance sheets.

Workflow

Select the assembly and bays, run the analysis, save the report.

  1. Select analysis inputsChoose the Product to analyze, then select an existing bay part or create bays from station planes.
  2. Configure the outputChoose the Excel path, language, units, and logging options, and confirm that the source parts are loaded.
  3. Run and reviewMonitor live progress, then review the regional details, summaries, and excluded instances in Excel.
